What is Laser Lipolysis?

Laser Lipolysis is a form of liposuction that employs laser technology to break up and liquefy the fat cells before they are removed. This is done by a small laser that's attached to the end of the cannula (the thin, hollow metal tube used to remove the fat cells).
What areas of the body is Laser Lipolysis used on?
Answer:
Some of the most common areas include the abdomen, thighs, back, love handles, neck and upper arms - anywhere there are small areas of targeted fat that cannot be eliminated through diet and exercise alone.
Why would someone choose Laser Lipolysis over traditional liposuction?
Answer:
Laser Lipolysis is often recommended for people with smaller areas of targeted fat because it is less invasive and you don't need to be put under anesthesia. The incisions are smaller and recovery is easier.
Will I have scars from the Laser Lipolysis procedure?
Answer:
Since the fat cells are liquefied before they are removed, the diameter of the cannula for Laser Lipolysis is much smaller than the type used for regular liposuction. This means that the incisions are very small and scars should not be noticeable.
What is recovery for Laser Lipolysis like?
Answer:
You will probably be sore for the first couple of days, but many people are able to return to their normal routine quickly after the procedure. Since you don't need to be put under general anesthesia, you will be awake through the procedure and able to leave our office when it is over. To control pain for the first few days we will prescribe you a pain reliever. You should also expect to experience some swelling in the treated areas, which will go completely down within a week or two. After a few weeks pass, you will be able to see the full benefits of the procedure.
How do I know if Laser Lipolysis is right for me?
