Are there any special considerations?
Answer: As with any surgery, smoking may compromise your result. Most smokers do not heal as quickly or as well as nonsmokers because smoking affects the blood supply and can ultimately affect your outcome.
Are there any special requirements?
Answer: You must stop taking all aspirin, Vitamin E supplements and Ibuprofen containing products (Motrin, Advil, Naprosyn, Aleve, etc.) and reduce your salt consumption for 2 weeks prior to surgery.
What about the results?
Answer: Swelling and bruising subside within 2-4 weeks and the final results are generally apparent in 1-2 months. Incision lines continue to refine and fade for one year. The result is a refreshed, but natural appearance - the goal is to make you look better without looking like you had surgery!
How long does the surgery take?
Answer: Generally, a full face lift takes about an hour depending on the patient. The surgery is generally performed as an outpatient under local anesthesia with sedation.
